Staff meetings, Autumn/Winter 2012

At the institute, we have two staff meetings per week, one on Mondays at 10:00 and one on Wednesdays at 10:00 throughout the year except for July and August and overlapping holidays. The two meetings serve different purposes.

The meetings on Mondays have the following standard agenda:
1. Welcome to new staff members and farewell to leaving staff members
2. General information and questions about institute activities from the directors and from the staff.
3. Brief presentation by the relevant younger co-author of the key messages of new papers published since last meeting.
4. Any other business
These meetings usually take about 30 minutes
Participation in these Monday morning meetings is mandatory for all staff.

The meetings on Wednesdays are for all scientific staff and include presentations of the scientific work by individual academic staff members at different stages (planning, intermediate results, final results) and can use prepared screen presentations. The meetings are usually of 1 hours duration, but the test defence lectures will last for approximately 1,5 hrs in order to allow detailed feedback. All scientific staff members are obliged to present their scientific work at regular intervals, and will be encouraged to do so on a particular date, which then can be exchanged with others, if convenient.
These meetings are mandatory for all scientific staff and optional for administrative staff.
